Fear of the Dentist
“I have had a phobia about going to the dentist ever since I had a very unpleasant experience with one when I was 13. Although I had not had any bad experiences since and had been very good about going regularly for treatment, I was always frightened and expecting the worse. My stomach would turn even when picking up the phone to make an appointment.
When Lucy told me about the tapping treatment, I must admit that there was a part of me which couldn’t see how something this simple could overcome 37 years of panic. However, I couldn’t see how it would make it worse, so one Saturday afternoon, with very little preamble, Lucy took me through the tapping process.
In less that 10 minutes, my fear had gone from 8 out of 10 down to 0 out of 10 and I felt the most amazing relief, a real sense of freedom from this disempowering fear. It was impressive, but I must admit that a little bit of me did wonder how I would feel on the following Wednesday morning when I went to a new dentist for a checkup. Amazingly, the evening before the appointment (when my panic would usually start to build up) all I could think about was that I wasn’t feeling nervous.
On the Wednesday morning, I was waiting for the fear to kick in – and it didn’t! I breezed into the dentist and relaxed in the chair where before I would have been as stiff as an ironing board! I don’t know exactly how this process works – I can only say that it does. I highly recommend Lucy and I urge you to consult her if you have any phobias of which you want to be free. Just a few minutes could change your life! “
